Highlights in different strokes

In January 2023, I found a game called different strokes when boringly looking around in steam's free game list, and fell in love with this game even now, I have drawn a ton of creations in three months, some are my most favourite and interesting, which makes me think about write this one.

First ever drawing in different strokes Original: Unknown

Yes, my first ever different strokes painting is a redraw of random drawing, the gameplay is about "fix" other player's artwork, no matter you add something on original painting, or fully redraw. I love how adorable of character from original painting is, sadly end up I have drawn the creature's head wrong because you can't check the original paint during drawing, but it's still my favourite one and first ever drawing.

Finish this sketch! Original: Rockheader

The original drawing is an unfinished sketch about a human head with cat ears, the idea comes to my brain when first time see this, then I draw an actual cat instead of human! Because I love cats more than human with animal ears (especially "catgirls").

My lord, I can feel that my fingers hurting when seeing this piece, although it's not the longest one, but spend too many times on this drawing was makes my last finger hurts, but it's worth it after seeing the results, also it's first time when people notices me? (With the cat drawing)
Although this drawing was only 10+ likes, but I was thought it's so much, ha!

Another most personal favourite, I don't care how fewer people like this piece, the colour, details and composition, again make this one makes my last finger hurts again, it's still worth it...... WORTH IT.

YUM! Original: Kiwizz

This drawing was drawn when I'm steaming with my boyfriend on discord, outlines are inspired by my other drawings like this one, and 80s Japanese illustrations, Memphis style. Surprised that this one is first drawing which gets over 100+ like, very proud about it and happy about people's supports.

Saw the original piece, and it gives me an idea about Kidco, my OC becomes dentist of the worm, that's it.
Looking this one back is kinda funny, because I assume the original seems like a weird kinky internet stuffs, but I'm not into with it and I just want to draw if the worm has the dentist.

Crash Bandicoot Original by Patrio_graysmark

I want to try and draw the Crash Bandicoot series so much, regardless, then saw Crash Bandicoot in different strokes, so draw him, just a simple reason and I like the colour and outlines I use.

The girl Original: Unknown

It's the pretty bad title I made and ran out of words...... By the way, her coat/jacket originally was blue, but I don't want to confused people as one video game character, which also has red hair with blue coat.

Hero protagonist Original: Ein01

This one is very, VERY challenge because this one has some colours which only on deluxe version (Dark green, red and pink), I tried to fix these outlines with thick stroke, with avoid to cover up the original colours, sadly I given up to add details on hero's hands and arms, it's the best I could do.
By the way, the song "Dear heroes" by Serani Poji has been in my brain even now, everytime saw this pieces......

Minecraft's vintage-style cake Original by myself

I know no one would to reads my blogger even this article, but may you'll wonder "Why this's the first ever best original drawing on different strokes", I have already drawn my own original paintings on this game, but most of them are just doodle and prompt.
And it's a test of deluxe version's strokes and colours after got it from game devs, I assume other artist also has same happened like me, because the community is great with a lot of awesome artists!

Also, one called player Anakin adds enderman in edited version, and it makes me thought the gray table outlines (which I originally drawn) are shadow from enderman, I love it!

Who lives in a pineapple in under of sea? Original by myself

Another original piece, also drawn when steaming with my boyfriend on discord, this originally was gonna be finished drawing for people fixes, but I fell love in with this during in the sketch, awesome

Demon smiley face Original: Unknown

The other test about different shadowing, instead of solid shadow as normal, the result is cool, sadly it's the only one I use this shadowing, because worry about art witch-hunting and if lost my original artstyle, but I got idea about try it again when writing this, thank god that art witch-hunting is rare, and it's okay to try other artstyles, I'll draw another one with this shadowing in future.

Some bio about my OC Original by myself

Okay...... I have no idea why I'd draw concept stuffs on different strokes instead of other art programs, by the way Kidco's (the OC in the drawing) 2nd form still in thoughts yet, hopefully I have times and motivation to continue it.

Also, I love the edited version (By Lostgull) has other Kidco with funky spike hair, and he says "wow!", WOW!

Ancient creatures 1st 2nd Original by Dasgrim

Dasgrim is one of different strokes player who is active and drawn ton of paintings about ancient creatures like dinosaurs, these creatures in two drawings are drawn by them, I just add backgrounds and details of creatures (Especially shadow and lighting).

Burger truck in day Original by Ein01

The first time I saw Ein01's sketch of truck is on official discord server of different strokes, then saw the sketch in game one day, I have drawn the idea from my brain although was no idea what's characters I should draw, so have drawn a crocodile as shopkeeper, with Kidco and my corn snake persona as customer.
The GRA 26K is a tiny Easter egg from Mr. Bean, which is my biggest childhood show.

Fun fact: I used to thought of make a joke, about replace paintings with mickey mouse without reasons, but end up I throw away because I don't want to make people thinks myself trying to ruin different strokes, oh BOY!

Yawn.
Saw this piece when messing around in different stroke, totally the rare moment when didn't change too much, the only thing I add is shadow on cat at right side, and the cat's new friend at left side who tokes its tongue out, one of my most favourite piece ever, bleh.

Some final thoughts

Finally, the last part to finish, I don't have too much thoughts about these, but I love this game.
It's a tiny online game although not for multiplayer, all of you do is browsing the art galley alone, find your favourite art piece and fix it, or draw your own one, it's a good idea for people who like drawing as myself.

Players can "chats" with their painting the gameplay, it's making more interesting for shy people but want to play multiplayer game.
Different strokes make me remind of memories in MMO online games when I was little kid, although it's different gameplay, also the community is nice with talent artist than me...... 🥲 (Not self-blame but holy lord), it's fun when talking with people on official discord, although I'm the silent one.

Anyway, different strokes is my current favourite game, it even gives me art ideas for if I'm gonna to draw new project in future, YUM! (Cat with ice cream) is still my personal favourite because of the outlines, which gonna be my artstyle.
